Running out of IDEAS

How to keep my mum and my kids amused whilst I am at work???

My mum already packed her bag! YES - It is not even January... but she is more than ready to go home. I can't blame her.. this is first ever time she is out of her comfort zone. She would probably won't return. I tried my best to entertain her - every weekends we try to do something and go somewhere... but all she wants to do is go home :-(

My kids?? How much DVDs you should let your kids watch during their school holidays? Everyday? 12 hrs? 6 hrs? I wish Aladdin would read books - but all he is ineterested are toys.. The other day we went to K-mart and he showed me the toys he would like to have for his birthday!

He even said to Aminah "I already explained to mummy which toys I want"

Hmmmm - I saw him drawing (organising) his birthday.. he has birthday in a circle.. then he put cake, candles, presents, food and drinks... oh dear another 'intan' in the making!

Must get some more those drawing pads and colors since I asked him to draw his 'holiday'...

...but ... what am I to do with my mum???

Richmond

Kids chasing ducks at Richmond Bridge

The famous "oldest" bridge in Australia.. big deal..

Richmond is highly touristy area - I don't get it. There's an old gaol (jail), souvenirs shops (expensive) and this old bridge.. yet there were buses and buses of tourists??? They must know something I don't.
There's also a miniature old hobart town... but we didn't go there - maybe next tourist we take to Richmond will see the old hobart town?? Intan? make sure you stay in Tassie at least 1 week

Sorell Fruit Farm

On the way to Tasman Peninsula, we stopped at the fruit farm... In season was peaches, raspberries, strawberries, broadbeans and cherries. Surely cherries was the best fruit to pick! strawberry you have to bend down, and the fruits can be a bit 'sandy' so you have to wash it first!
Notice that the other fruits need not be protected from the birds. Only cherries are in the bird-proof nets... Birds aren't stupid.
It's like the cherry 'jannah' (paradise) I probably ate as much as the big punnet (if not more!). My favourite was the white cherries - they are not quite sweet as the black ones. Milder taste - yummm

Too many varieties of the raspberries..
Watch out for the thorns!

yum yum - masammmmmm
I wish we can go there every week!

Mum at Salamanca and Hobart waterfront

Zoo Doo

Zoo Doo is not even a zoo. It is more like a farm. But they do have a couple of tigers and lions.

Feeding the emu
White (albino) wallaby or the Aussie call them "boomer"

To me they look a bit like rat! Big rat with a pouch!

Feeding deer, dear.
It was a very windy day!
Patting the hungry camel

Fastest creater on land on two legs

This boy(s) seriously need a haircut

The goat is checking out the safari bus
one hungry big bird

Getting ready (to feed animals) on the safari bus

Lion's tucker

Big Beast..
I must add... Taiping Zoo is million times better than this zoo doo... Guess how much we paid to go into zoodoo??

Remarkable Cave, Blowhole, Devil's Kitchen and Tasman Arch

For the 'touch and go' tourists like us.. these sights are pretty remarkable.. but you do get the feeling ---came all these way for a hole?
Boyz checking out the remarkable cave.
Here it is

Photos doesn't do these places justice... you have to be there to be err 'awed'

The sand wall is pretty wet and a perfect wall for 'graffiti'??

On the way down to remarkable cave
unremarkable pose by Rohan!
Quite hard to take.. but I still think we should take a boat trip around the amazing sea stacks, and do the bush tracks... next time maybe?

Devild's Kitchen is exactly that... a cracked cliffs?
The cliffs is pretty high and big - can't really take good pictures of it unless if you are on a chopper maybe?

My mum can't bear to look down the cliff
See the white station wagon beside the campervan? that's us. We had walked around and standing on the 'arch' I supposed??

Mountain climbers?? -- I hope not--

This is the arch --- taken from the side where we parked.. It was better real-life I must say.

That's the bit we walked on...
Blowhole (zoomed)

You really have to be there at the right time to see and hear the 'blow'.
