Tribe

I am a bit embarrassed to say that I seldom see my kids at sport or performing at school. I must be worst than my Dad - I remember he used to attend my school annual presentations when I was in primary school. Maybe my kids accepted that their mum was never around. This year I made a grand appearance so it seemed. A couple of teachers made comments like "aaah it's nice to see you both".

The show was about aboriginal culture so it is so not in tune with me but all my three kids were involved (but not in a major roles). It is amazing how their music teacher handle the whole 3 performances - I also saw a few tears whilst performing arrrgh such patience. Pretty much the whole school were involved.

The set : The black, yellow and red is the colour of the Aboriginals' flag. Too bad we weren't allowed to take pictures/video of the performance - silly rules, some scenes especially when all of them on stage and put their hands up.. looks pretty cool, I tell ya!

Which is which?

O is in the choir. He attended the 3 performances : 2 matinees and 1 night show. He is happy to wear the sarong.

A - would rather wear garbage bag than to wear one of my "sarongs"

Final year at Perth Primary.. can't believe he's going to high school next year. I hope he gets his growth spurt soon.

The happy tiger

Rohan and his classmates
Considering that I don't really have to fuss much - I think it was a great show. All they need was black shirt and pants - my kids's black shirt has some motives on them so they wore inside-out. Orion's got the charcoal shirt - and Aladdin was happy with his garbage bag.

Spring has sprung...

Seemed like I turn around and it's a new moon.. where have the time gone. Haven't thought about the trip yet... only 3 weekends to go and one of them I might be working. I know it will be a low key trip coz I have a very limited budget. I think it is best that way, if I have bigger budget I tend to waste money on rubbish.

peach? or plums? not sure - behind the fish shop in Kings Meadow.

He said - why don't you take a picture of my almond's flowers not stranger's one... so here it is the egg man and his almond tree. The chooks started laying again.

You can't grow enough of these things as Asians [I think]. They are $3 a bunch of three.... but when I have them - I never seemed to use them - weirdo.

Peach? of my neighbour's, Aminah, and a cute bird nest

Pride and joy - not the flower lah!

Cherry plums flowers really change the mood, hundreds of bees buzzing away but the plums not so hot. My kids still eat them but mainly birds will get them. The plums has to compete with the cherries, so surely cherries will win.

My cute little sanctuary from on top of the car port's roof. The big green blackwood tree is now half the size.

Snow drops, not as pretty as say... bluebells but closed up they are quite nice

Wasted long weekend

I feel like I have wasted my long weekend by doing bugger all. On Friday went to town and catch up with friends and ate useless food. I had a crave for a nasik lemak so I ordered one and not too happy with it. (never thought I am fussy about food) - so to compensate that frustration, I cooked nasik lemak last night [I try to avoid making it coz I knew I will ate and ate senselessly]. I am not saying my nasik lemak is world's best but here, mine is still better than the bought one. [perasan ler kan] Actually one of the bought one was OK but not very consistent sometimes.

grrrr - so don't ask how I'm doing with my diet --- yep went off-rail (and in a big way)... so I might be heavier than when I started. Same old story.

Saturday was also wasted by going to town and did grocery shopping (on my own) and flatten my car battery [for the hundredth time] grrrrr and bought more rubbish. I also lost my car key in the hypermarket and had to re-trace my track... oh Faridah you are doing well.

Sunday, I did get ahead with one quilting project - this was the biggest quilt I ever did. Only took a few years [haahaha] --- but not due to the size, I knew the colour scheme to work with so I got two jelly rolls that I am happy with, then I had similar idea to my previous project but changed my mind half way. I doodled many designs but until I saw a real quilt picture that I decided to go with the design. I knew what I wanted --- only was unsure how to get there. Then, same old story.. I have tonnes of fabric but the one I need always still at the shop! This was by far the biggest quilt that I've ever made - so big I had to do the measurement outside my shed... and there's (maybe) bird shit mark here and there. hahaha

Monday took the cake. It rained almost all day - and I was driving around doing chores again, there's always things I forgot to get and writing this post made me remember that I had to get more things...

By 9 pm I am dead to the world... and this morning after fajar, I didn't go back to bed, ironed all my uniform for the week and first thing that greeted me was "work" under my door!... GRRRRRRR I put a BIG envelope for tasks but nope this particular SH** head chose to annoy me my forwarding his job to me.

So there you have it --- pretty insignificant long weekend
