Fair-dinkum lover
Ok I get that - Aussie slang and what not
But I would like it better if it ends with "heep of sh*t" rather than "strife"
it's all about rhyming dear...
--- Also please use the correct annotations and space... it's driving me crazy

Fair'dinkum Lover - by Hisham Addicoat
Wife's gone Quill'tin up Norf
come round, yah can play wiv my dworf
She ain't no Clancy,
but the Quill'tin is fan'see
and we got it all round the house.
Last time she went,
was driv'in hell bent
Not miss'in out on the less'n
even'if Its an all day session.
The police stopped her far rac'in
now a speed fine we are fac'in
blamed it on me,
said she wanted ta see
what I was doing back home.
What was she think'in,
yar, you left me of purfume stink'in
But I was smart,
cause I took me monthly bath
Was cover'in me path and me trax
Cause I'm fair'dinkum,
I'm in love with the wife.
And think about it ?,
-----if she caught me,
I'd be in a heep a strife.

Nice-patch updates
I got remnants of this gorgeous prints. I think it's good for making a 'scenery' quilt (art quilt)
but I incorporated it into my nine patch (art quilt takes more time and patience - which I haven't got). It look stunning with the white background but not so obvious in the colourful patches.
But I think it won't look as good because not much contrast.
Maybe white strips are much better to join those blocks? What do you think?
Putting that cross strips is very time consuming. I think I can make three blocks a night. I really love those stripy fabric... but for contrast, I might have to go with white... We'll see.
Another sewing weekend
I went to Latrobe on Saturday for a 'sewing do'. I actually wanted to make a vest but couldn't find suitable pattern so ended up making a tote bag. I didn't finish it during the class. Sunday was cold and miserable and kids didn't want to go out at all... so I finished the bag instead... never mind the house not tidy! (as usual)
It's an 'Amy Butler' pattern called 'birdie sling bag'. I am pleased with the bag... it looked like a 'bought' one isn't it??? [but don't look too close!]
The tricky bit was to put the handle on - and I did it myself at home. At the class - I spent most of the time cutting the pattern. I just like to go there for the company really. (isn't that sad?)

When desperate - make a nine-patch
The quilting shed is not 100% up and running. I put a vinyl, then 'buuurrrrgghhh', it's too cold for my feet, so I went and bought a gorgeous colourful woolly carpet and 'aaahhhhh' it feels so nice under my feet, but...
I still have no power. Also it is kind of lonely working in there (what???!).
I am neither here nor there, I have tonnes of gorgeous fabrics and I always think - if I die... lots of 'dolleros' down the 'gurgler'. I think about quilts on a daily basis (mainly looking at quilt blogs and internet-window-shopping (or would that be, screen shopping? - I mainly look at those gorgeous fabrics/kits and put them in the shopping cart but I never check-out.) but still... if you come to my house today, you won't notice any quilts lying around the house (like most quilters' houses). Only rubbish... My 'to-make-list' is endless... my un-finished projects are ridiculous... So I thought - enough is enough (of this idle)... I am going to sew something simple....

Cake Stall to help a family
Today between 10 am to 2 pm, there will be a cake stall at level 3 to raise money for a family of a young nurse who just passed away. He was only 38.
I wonder if anybody will hold a cake stall if I passed away to help my 'young' family? How fickle life is. Allah can change our situation in an instant. I feel very small.
Will my kids have proper meals. Will they have nutritious breakfast? Will they be playing games all day and night? Will they have showers? Will they be happy again?

Rohan's incredible hulk
On my whiteboard at work. I asked Rohan, what are those circles? "It's six-pack Mummy, don't you know?"
... yeah but I counted eight?!
Then Orion interrupted, "No... the big ones are.."
"His tits?"
hahahahahahhahaha - everybody laughed.
Actually the hulk (face) look a bit like Rohan, don't you think?

Cute barometer
Last weekend, we went to Grindelwald to send a quilt for 'quilting'. The kids were hungry and I thought let's check out the resort. It's Tasmania's own little Swiss Village. We didn't really explore the whole area since we had a house warming party to go to. Hisham bought this cute barometer. I haven't seen anything like it.
Took the picture this morning, when little man with rain coat comes out = going to be a rainy day. When it is sunny , a little girl will come out from the other door. Cute.
