Extraordinary PAIN for ordinary grade - kah kah kah

I just got my 'ordinary membership' from 'The College'.  All these years I was just an 'affiliated' member. Which I have no problem with. You see it is all about the $$$$. For affiliation I have to pay maybe 1/3 of the full membership fee. That suits me just fine but NO they want me to be a member. As ordinary as it may sound... to get it took a lot of PAIN....

Pain number one - off course $$$$. Pain number two, to be accepted as 'member', I have to be 'certified' -- this is where the major PAIN took place
To be certified - I had to go through years of accreditation process... which you already heard my endless whines about it. There were some tears and disappointment after disappointment.. Not to mention how it badly affected my relationship with my husband and kids and the detrimental effects on my overall health. [elevated blood pressure etc]. I think the certificate should say "EXTRA Ordinary Member" - don't you think?

more of Hisham's rambling

http://poetry.com/poems/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&first_name=hisham&last_name=LAST+NAME&city=CITY&state=STATE&country=COUNTRY&alias=ALIAS&commit=Search

This is what consumed Hisham nowadays, always glued to his chair in his messy office. I let him go to his cocoon.. only occasionally I reminded him... "go to bed"... or let's go out doing this and that..

I don't know much about poetry... but I do like good poetry. Alas 'good' is subjective really.

No lovey dovey

Coin   - by Hisham Addicoat

You said it, I listened, we both agree.
Two souls can be one,
united.
How rare is two headed coin,
there are many two tailed coins,
of endless tales,
where calmly looking at each other's position,
fails.
Where lies become the norm,
story telling till dawn,
hearts broken and torn.
Do any of us really want that conflict?
A fight is futile, makes one sick
It has to be a gift of her soul's pair,
to be aware of each other's hearts,
needs, and to pacify or they just squabble,
yell,
tell each other off and make one cry.
All sounds simple, there is no debate,
yet we quarrel incessantly until one is shown the gate.
So I'll flip a coin and hope,
it lands,
square smack on it's edge.
Neither head nor tails, just a pleasant compromise,
wishing she could also be as wise.

Tamar Island Wetlands Pt 2

Some time ago we came to this place but didn't get the chance to walk all the way to Tamar Island. Yesterday, the boyz and I did the walk... all the way.. my feet still sore from the walk.

Reedland

One of the bridges and Rohan. Can see tiny specs of Launceston in the far background
Studying the map?

End of the road...

Viewing platform and bird's toilet

Reconstitute tin shed from the 3 cottages used for dredging workers circa 1880-something

What's cooking?

The old pantry.. maybe?
I wondered how many people?families used to live on this island?

The island clearly has the look of European settlement. There are European trees and fruit trees

Station 13: The old plough in the middle of an oak tree.

track back to car park

Gorgeous boys on gorgeous track

Low tide. Rohan said "look zentangle" (to the shape of this 'mini lagoon)

Remnants of the old dredge?

Bird life here are rampant. Maybe we should come with binocular next time? We saw a lot of black swans, cormorants, purple swamp hen (beautiful dark blue chest), pacific gulls, ducks, etc... Heaven for bird watchers.

Time to go home.

Who in the blue blazers gets married - Hisham Addicoat

Have you ever thought it might be nice
just to lay in bed with the one you wed.
But she is off somewhere to do her hair
with never a care.
It's down right mean and I'm always seen
to be rising alone, or sitting around
(waiting by the phone) in an empty home.
Or if not, when it's time to get undressed,
she starts up that confounded machine.
And to me confessed, "Just another dress
I've got to mend, I'll quilt a few patches
don't wait up", she'll defend.
But the thing never stops and it's
rhythm is excessively annoying,
so I'm not enjoying and eventually
nod off to sleep.
In to bed she will creep
and yet in the morning while
I turn over yawning, she's gone.

Now.... do you think it's a good poem? I have his better ones... nowadays it's all ^&*(

My first skirt

The story is : I get to wear uniform now. I love it. Now I feel more like a part of the team. I chose one size bigger than what I usually wear but still ... the shirt isn't long enough. This is probably silly but I feel 'naked' having a shorty top. So to overcome that short shirt, I will have to put a skirt under it.

There's a sewing class from time to time at Latrobe which I like to go. I get to drool on quilting fabrics and they are very flexible with the projects. They were having a cushion class yesterday but I told them I'd like to make a skirt instead. So here we are... it's a wrap around type skirt and I forgot to make it longer than the pattern. I love it even though I do look like a dag. Ha ha ha.

I sped (a little) on the way home because I want to get home before dark..... and I got busted! 127 kms/hr on the 110 zone. busted big time. I didn't even plead, I just gave the policeman my license when he asked for it and waited (and cursing myself for speeding). Minutes later he came back, returned my license and said I'll let you off this time since you never have any infringement before... but please slow down. Thank you officer "smiling". I thought good that he stopped me..I was feeling rather tired. So I went out for a bit of fresh air, waited for sunset and pray magreb (sunset celebration), then I slowly drove home.

So that new skirt of mine could easily be an expensive one! no more speeding now.... Oh I lost 3 points too! (in Tasmania, you are given 12 points: each traffic infringement has it's demerit points, If you manage to lose all 12 points within 12 months - you don't have a valid license any more. Sometimes you may have to sit for driving test again. Even this time he let me go, but if I get into trouble again, within the 12 mths, I will have to pick this one too.. so I will get double whammy for fines) Fair? ow yeah... I think so.

Another thought that cross my mind, I didn't have to give any excuse or 'talk' to the policeman, I knew I was wrong but he let me go on his own accord... imagine if I get pulled in Malaysian road? the police may 'ask' for some $$ so that he won't fine me. I am pretty sure of that.

Black with checker design. The trim was grey-ish fabric.

Mother's Day

So did I get spoilt on Mother's Day?

The answer is : NO

Rohan did I'heart'U at school. Aladdin lost his card.. O... I don't know

Anyway we had a nice bush walking days on Saturday and Sunday... at Cataract Gorge.

Here are the pictures.
I just discovered that we can park FOC near Penny Royal World  for Gorge visitors.

Old Tram Station

Tram Shed. Not a working tram. I wonder if they will restore the tram service in Lonnie .

The start of zig-zag track. This is quite a steep track.. phewww

Fancy living in this house?

Magic seed. You throw this in the air and it will spiral down like a helicopter. I am glad Aladdin said "this is more fun than the 'games'"

Hobart in Autumn

Or is it Autumn in Hobart...

Last weekend, we went to Hobart to see Peter Pan at Playhouse Theatre. It was Rohan's first live show and he really enjoyed it. I think everybody enjoyed it (I would have prefer musical, but it was not bad at all I must say, considering very reasonable ticket price). We stayed at Fountainside hotel. Of the many accommodation I had in Hobart, I love this best for (1) Price $179 - one Queen Bed and 3 single beds - perfect for us 5. Normally it is hard to find a room that can accommodate 5 bodies. (2) It's location. Not far from CBD and the Wharf. (3) Nice people at the counter.
We didn't try the food but I did check the menu and the morning spread - not much choice for 'vegetarian' so we decided to eat elsewhere.

Looking down from our 6th floor room. That's the ABC building (Australian Broad Casting  radio/tv station)

Room with a greatview

This is the view on the other angle. This is the corner unit, hence the view.

Sunrise with some clouds

Not from the hotel room. Hobart is famous for it's sailing activities.  I hate to think about the cost of yachting.

You can enjoy the yachts without being in it (that's what I think!)

Huge mussels at the Wharf.

You can see starfish very clearly even at deep water.

Deciduous trees in front of Parliament House (Intan, Ida, remember this place? quieter on Sunday)

More 'colored' trees in Salamanca area - that round white buildings used to be silos.  Now it's an expensive accommodation.

Every Saturday this road is filled with stalls : Salamanca Market. Mt Wellington on the back drop.

Found this 'pink' cave in Salamanca, It's a face painting shop (?).. Oooo there's a boy in a pink 'cave'

Guess what??? public toilets! hehehehe

Old junk like this can be effective at certain places!

I just love the winter lights.. it makes interesting photos

Convict sandstone bricks.

My 'boy colection'

New and old buildings.. I just love the combination of colours and  shapes, nice ideas for quilts.

More yellow trees and did you see those leaves on the ground?  Kids can spend hours playing in them.

i shop (tourist information shop)

Oldest building in Hobart. Nice rectangles

New entrance to Hobart museum and art gallery

Golden leaves

Did I tell you, I love trees especially when they change colours

More quilt design inspirations

Intan, this picture is for you n Mr. Baker. This is the coolest bakery I have seen so far. I wish you can see it for yourself.

humongous meringues with crushed pictacchios. And pink, white and green macarons (yeah all medicine for diabetes)

I wish I can snap the breads from inside the shop.
I missed Salamanca Market on Saturday but there was a 'craft/made' market. But nothing spectacular there - Everything is expensive.
